Road To The Draft - Derek Hine

Post by Dream Still Alive »

Audio on thr AFL website. Really interesting to listen to Derek Hine. Expects Freeman and Scharenberg to re-sign in the next few weeks. He is also very excited about De Goey and how good he can be.

All he really said was that they "are hopeful" Scharenberg will re-sign in a few weeks. He didn't sound too confident about it to me, but maybe that's just me being a pessimist.

Yeah doubt Hine would come out and say contract talks have stalled even if they had.

Pretty much gave the party line answer you'd expect.

Wait and see.

That's done and dusted for me. You don't mention any timeframe if it's not happening. Scharenberg will re-sign. Good news.
Well done boys!

Hine has said how much he loved De Goey.

Saying when he saw him as a Underager/17 that he wanted to hide him so no one else can see him

Or are nearing the end and this is just another in a series of meetings to finalise the details.

Yeah, my nephew said the same thing and while that ordinarily wouldn't count for too much he does play for Glenelg with young Jonty.
