^ To be clear, I wasn't commenting on "playing the kids" - I was making a statement about the Coach's values - he plainly favours hard work over talent. He'd probably have asked Phil Carman to bring the ball to ground for Josh Thomas, too, instead of going for those silly mark things.

Aren’t we playing Sier on talent, not hard work at training? Or rather, the hope he’ll be consistent with his talent.

They're naming Sier because the Coach wants that structure, irrespective of whether there is a competent player for the role. You couldn't be picking Sier on talent, hard work or exposed form. He's being picked because he has, in the Coach's opinion, the correct body shape.

Thing is though, consistent hard work does being success.Talent can only take you so far. Be better if we have both though!

Know what you mean though mate. I agree we need to let certain players off the leash a bit and let them play their natural game. Moore against Carlton for example.

@johnno75, our backs against the wall, criticism from all sides, interstate game... usually this means we play a blinder and cause an upset! Pies by 35.

Maybe they just wanted to activate the medical sub? Sier can't run games out anyway
