If we were told at the start of the year Schultz would be equal second in the goal kicking equal to Mihocek would we be happy or sad?

He's doing okay, but plenty of room for improvement.

21 goals and our 2nd highest goal kicker so far this season.

Schultz is an unreliable kick for goal and for a player that plays forward, that’s a massive problem.
Two misses from 30m v Bulldogs 1st qtr
Crucial miss v Fremantle to pretty much seal the game not very far out.
One shocker from 20m v North ( another just squeezed in by 1mm)
Didn’t make the distance from 25m v Richmond.

As i posted in a previous thread, he seems to be the John Noble of the forward line. A player who has more limitations than strings to his bow.

Schultz could have been worse today. At least he did score those 2 goals.

John Noble tried very hard and just racked up Clanger after Clanger. Some players just try to do much and he’s one of them. Not sure about Schultz yet but we have him for a few years yet
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

At this point of the season:
Lachie Schultz ~ 21g 17bh from 16 games
The Ginnivan - 21g 19bh from 17 games

Yeah, that poor goal kicking is really costing us...

We will actually pay hawks to have Ginnie.
We paid a first round pick for Shultz.
Shultz is a poor kick at goal.
He fumbles, lacks polish and class and is a poor decision maker.
He is a scrubber at best
His only redeeming feature is his hard work and tackling .

Ginnivan's accuracy has no relevance to Schultz’s poor kicking. Cody Weightman has kicked 22.8 playing a similar position as Schultz.
I for one am not interested in how the other teams or opposition players perform. I’m only interested in Collingwood and its players.

Schultz missed an absolute sitter on Sunday and it wasn’t the first time this year.

Looks completely stressed out running around out there. Maybe chill a bit and he'll stop shanking easy kicks. His effort is terrific. Been a difficult season to be a forward at the pies that's for sure.

Shultz's game isn't about kicking goals. His pressure at the contest is what people need to look at. Half the time he's nowhere near the goal. He misses some sitters but alas so do other players.

he is an ok player, but certainly nowhere near what we paid for him, and especially when you consider what we took out to make space for him
