Boland gets Root. Hawkeye shows the ball deviated just enough. Hard to see with the naked eye. Good use of technology by Channel 7.

Oz's last great batsman, Ricky Ponting, on Root's wicket:

"There is no bigger reward in all of world cricket."

......................................................

Later, they show Boland is using reverse swing. Any reverse swing any bowler in the world can get is a good thing. After the ball tampering scandal, reverse swing disappeared from the game.

Lyon gets the chance to show he's not useless in 4th innings... We'll see...
Well, he has one wicket, but...

In fairness, Blewett in commentary is shocked that "on a fifth-day pitch", there's no turn. Lyon's offie is like an arm ball, they say.

..............

It shows how bad Oz batters all are against spin. Yesterday, Leach picked up 4 wickets.

Lyon gets Stokes!!

Bad by Stokes. As Ponting says, he was caught in two minds. Wanted to leave it, then didn't and guided it straight to slip.

Lyon has doubled his wicket tally.

Just what Oz wanted, with the new ball soon available.

5 wickets needed now.

................................

Ponting sounds unimpressed by Stokes's defence there. Says there was some bounce, but...

FTB is bowling. Why not Marny?? Marny is a far better legspinner than FTB now.

New ball. Starc.

LBW shout turned down. They review. They don't think it's out... but time is running out... And their reviews won't.

It's not out.

.................

Commentators already talking about inquiries if it's a draw. They're picking on the declaration. Commentators always want captains to declare too early. The "inquiry" should be about the pitch being too flat... Or about Lyon still being unable to bowl out teams on a 5th-day pitch...

.................

England aren't safe, but they'll need to help Oz for Oz to win.

With a few minutes to go to the last hour, odds are:
Draw 1.09, Oz 8.10, England 501.00.

That's what you get when you have a very, very flat pitch. This is no surprise to Cummins. He's been banging on about the flat pitches in Oz and especially the SCG for years. Maybe now he's captain, some folks might listen...

Cummins reviews and gets Buttler LBW!! Reiffel gave it not out.

Oz stil have a sniff...

Odds:
Draw 1.28, Oz 3.50, England 501.00.

Is 3.50 worth a flutter? :?:
