Apart from Maxwell and Zampa, it reads largely like the cloth from which one might cut a second 11.

Gee that’s a bit harsh on some of the others dude. Agar, Marsh and Maxwell (just to name three) will walk into any other team. Silly comment IMO.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

You didn't notice my comment about Maxwell when you quoted it, then?

As for Agar and Marsh, they don't even really stand out in our domestic competition, so to suggest that they "will walk into any other team" is, to say the least, surprising.

Dates for the SA Tests not finalised, but could be that WA suffers the most, for the remaining Shield rounds.

WA: Only Green, in the Test squad but all these in the T20s for NZ: Philippe, Marsh, Tye, Turner, Stoinis, Behrendorff, Short, Richardson, Agar.

Yeah my bad regarding Maxwell. However as a matter of opinion, I rate both Ashton Agar and Mitch Marsh, and their ability to make a difference to a team winning or losing. Really talented players.

Philippe is no loss (wasn't in the team anyway), but the others might be. Richardson should probably be going to SA, not NZ.

Goes to SA ? Most likely to 'carry the drinks' or as cover for any Covid problems, as are Neser, Steketee and Abbott - with Pattinson the first to replace any of Starc, Cummins or Hazlewood.

Goes to NZ ? Frontline bowler.

The big questions are injuries and rotations. Rotations are back on the agenda after the dismal decision to play the same attack the whole series, even after their bodies were flogged for 131 fruitless overs on that very, very flat SCG pitch.

I don't know how good Neser is. He did not look good in the slogathon the other night, but that is just a slogathon and his team was being smashed.

England are rotating almost everyone now, including batsmen and wicketkeeper. Foakes is keeping when Buttler's shift ends.

The Aussies are in hard lockdown for the first three days before they can use the gym on day four. From day five, the squad can train together in isolation for up to four hours.

The first T20 is on Monday, February 22.

What do we think the actual 11 will be? My guess is that the batting would be

Wade
Philippe
Stoinis
Finch
Maxwell
Marsh

After that, Zampa picks himself but I'm unable to decide who the other bowlers would be based on having watched them and been impressed (as distinct from reviewing their stats).

Agree. Although they could go Wade/Short to open, because of their Hurricanes' form, together.
