Champions League Final 2021: Manchester City v Chelsea

The Champions League Semi Final ties are now completed as Manchester City and Chelsea have advanced to the Champions League Final for 2021 marking a third all-English final since the competition's inception after 2008 and 2019.

Manchester City will be playing in their first Champions League final and looking to make history as being the sixth English club after Liverpool, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Chelsea to win the competition.

Chelsea will be looking to win their 2nd Champions League final and their first final since 2012 when they defeated Bayern Munich on penalties. Chelsea also previously made the final in 2008 losing to Manchester United on penalties.

Pep Guardiola is managing in his third CL final after two finals wins with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011. Thomas Tuchel will be managing in his second CL final after leading PSG to the final last year, who were ultimately defeated to Bayern Munich 1-0.

We had an interesting mini-preview in the EPL at the weekend, with Chelsea taking City down. I don't know how much it means but it was interesting that Chelsea were able to break them down at the back, at least on that occasion.

Yes, very excited.

I watched the UEFA Cup Final a couple of mornings ago and I certainly hope we don't have the unedifying spectacle of seeing the penalty shoot-out go to 20-all without any misses and then have one of the goalies miss his penalty and lose the Cup for his team. It's a shameful way for a sporting code to end any important game.

Anyway, Chelsea by 3 (during the 90 minutes), I hope.
