Happy 20th anniversary Dopers; you deserve it.
And they thought 1965 - 1984 was a decent flag drought in a 12 team comp!

There is just no arguing with them. You can't say anything. They just believe they are the best.
I remember in 2010, I was told it was pathetic that it took us 20 years to win a GF. I was told in my own living room that we are not a successful club.
Every coach they've had is the best. Dodoro is the best. Every premiership side from Hawks, to Tigers, to us are "not that good" and "lucky to win".
Its been tiring over the years, but also enjoyable. Especially this year when they thought they were going to finish top 4.

So, what we're saying, basically, is that Essendon is the least successful cornerstone club in the AFL for the last two decades. As we have made a firm case the AFL then will be entitled to do the following ASAP ~
~ 2 Priority picks in this years draft.
~ 1 Priority pick in 2025 AFL Draft, insofar as they do not win a final during the season proper.
~ A loosening of the soft cap (say by 1/3rd) until such time that they win a final.
~ A free agent subsidy that will see the AFL pay up to 1/3rd of any potential unrestricted or restricted free agent's salary, and this bonus amount to not be added to their salary cap.
The AFL hereby thanks the members of Nick's Collingwood Bulletin Board for their assistance in revealing this egregious situation.
And the scary thing is, given the twats in charge at the moment, it could very well happen...

"who wants to win finals unless its the grand final".
"we have to most premierships".
"We've won the most Grand Finals".
"Now tally the Premierships".
"We're still the most successful club".
I'm telling you, it would be a different story if it were another club. They are cut about this, make not mistake. They just try to hide behind other clubs failures.
20 years no finals win, 24 years without a flag. It's their worst era in their history. And it's going to get darker before they turn it around. But sure we were "Lucky to win" with a team that "Isn't that good", just like the 24 Premiership teams before us I suppose.

Geez if only GWS (this year), Adelaide (2017), St Kilda (2009), and Fremantle (2013) won their flags. And if only the Suns had won a final by now. Oh well, hopefully another 20 years for everyone.
